The first thought that comes to our mind when we hear the concept of beauty is “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”. Everything in and around us are beautiful and it takes people with special care and observation to identify beauty in everything.
Taking today’s world into consideration, we find various perceptions when it comes to beauty. Some people think that inner beauty matters more than the outer beauty and some others thinks that the outer beauty is much more important in today’s world without understanding the fact that it is the inner beauty that defines our outer self.
Rather than seeing beauty in its true essence, people nowadays misinterpret it as the outer self which is why people now go behind fashion. Beauty is attributed towards women in today’s world, forgetting the fact that beauty can be found in even the tiniest creature of this universe.
We give more importance to body when it comes to beauty not knowing that body is just an outer shell that’s used to protect our inner organs. Human beings often think that people would judge their beauty according to their outfits. For instance, there are people who change their outfit at least 2 times before rushing to some other place; they won’t even think about the timings, they will be concerned only about the outfit and not punctuality.
The definition for beauty changes depending on our lifestyle. Consider yourself as a unique creation of nature and since everyone can’t be the same we have been created differently and what makes us different makes us beautiful.
We find many foreigners visiting our country, and they feel that we are beautiful; they will be praising our culture, our dressing styles, etc. On the contrary, we feel that they are beautiful. This helps us understand that the perception of beauty changes when it depends on our physical appearance. Beauty is thus in the soul. As they say, “beauty isn’t about having a pretty face; it’s about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart and a pretty soul.”
Try observing people rather than passing sweeping judgments about their outer appearance. We can find many beautiful characteristics of people if we try to observe them. There will be a beautiful side for everyone. In order to identify it, we must make an effort to observe beyond the physical appearances. The idea of beauty being unblemished skin has to be changed. But now, slowly we are learning the fact that ‘All that glitters is not gold.’
