“No one has ever become poor by giving” – Anne Frank
Think of you being in solitary confinement, in a dark room where you are not even able to identify whether its morning or evening. And suddenly a ray of light is coming from somewhere and you would be speechless to explain your feeling at that point, right? This is the same feeling that a poor human being goes through when they are offered a helping hand for food, clothes, money, etc. Just like a ray of light that comes through darkness!
The concept of human beings having two hands, as some people explain, is to give and to receive. There won’t be any use if we are only interested in receiving and not in giving. It’s not about giving everything you have, but it’s about the mind that’s ready to give even if you have only a little with you.
Family indeed plays a major role in deciding on a person to be generous or not. It is a habit that should be developed within the family. If a child grows by seeing the generosity of the parents, it’s pretty sure that they will also attempt in showing some kind of generosity for people who they see in their lives. Thus, it can be said that a family is responsible for giving birth and aborting a generous individual.
Generosity is one basic factor that determines the value of an individual which can add on the rest of the values, even if you lack some in your life. You grow only when you give. This can be further proved by considering famous and rich people like Michael Dell, Mark Zuckerberg, Ratan Tata, etc in business field and celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Taylor Swift, Amir Khan, etc , who make sure that their help and guidance reach the poor and the needy. Now, the one thing that comes to our mind is “They are rich, so they gave and how can everyone expect us to also contribute like them?” Now we get to know the importance of Anne Frank’s statement that, we need not give everything that we have!
Let’s try this once to know more about it. Take an amount of just Rs. 10 every day with you in your pocket, which is separately kept, we will surely find people in need while we travel to school, office, anywhere in this world. Give that money to anyone in need, who you find in this world. Continue this for one month and see the difference in you and your surroundings. Let’s try to be the sunshine in someone else’s life!
Raise your standard of giving, people!
