The road that leads to success in life is not simple; it should contain tolerance and understanding that paves the way for a well built up road in your life. The ability of each and every human being to live and let others live a happy life lies on the level of tolerance and understanding with which we live in our day to day lives.
Tolerance in its true essence means to appreciate and respect the opinions, practices, beliefs, ideas, skills, attitudes, etc of people who live around you. Let us consider a simple example which everyone can relate to their own lives. Whenever we find kids around, they will obviously be active and some might be hyperactive, right!? Even if we scold them or beat them up, it is not going to make much difference with them. The only things that can be done as adults, to tackle the smaller ones, are to be tolerant and to understand them. Only if you tolerate will they become calm at least at some point of time.
Tolerance can be considered as the stepping stone to Harmony. If we are intolerant, can we live in harmony with each other? Now, let us consider a better example by taking the relation between nature and human beings. Ancient days, human were living in peace with nature. Nowadays, we find nature being intolerant because of what we humans do to it. We don’t care about our harmony with nature; we are selfishly concerned about our self.
Without tolerance, the world would end up soon. We all are living in this world now just because someone or the other has tolerated us and our activities. The beauty of this world lies in the diversity with which we are filled. A small decline in the tolerance level can cause trouble to the entire people living in this world. Now, that’s the power of Tolerance. It can build you but at the same time, if not used in the right place, it can burst you.
Something to be noted with regard to tolerance is the fact that we do not know which in what situation at where could we tolerate or not. Something which we tolerate now can be turned out to be something which we cannot tolerate tomorrow.
Thus, to tolerate means to live and let live!
